Data licence notice
Last updated 25 October 2026
Where our figures come from. Our flight figures are built from records published by the US Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). Those records are US government works in the public domain. The DOT and BTS have no part in Wingmark Analytics and do not endorse it; the figures, indices and grades on this site are our own work.
Open databases we use. Some of our work rests on data made available under the Open Database License (ODbL):
- Aircraft position reports collected by adsb.lol's volunteer receivers. When a page, chart or file uses them, it carries this notice: Contains information from adsb.lol, which is made available here under the Open Database License (ODbL).
- Walking distances inside some airports, measured on OpenStreetMap. © OpenStreetMap contributors, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL); see openstreetmap.org/copyright.
Where a page, chart or file rests on one of these, it carries the notice above. The licence text is at opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/.
What you may reuse, and how. You may quote and reproduce our published figures, charts and stories with attribution: "Wingmark Analytics, [page title], [date]", with a link. Anything you publish from a page that carries an open-database notice must carry that notice too. Our own working tables are kept inside Wingmark; what we publish and license are the outputs made from them. For the open databases themselves, the Open Database License gives you rights directly, and nothing here limits them.
Our method. The way we turn the open data into our figures is described on each product's method page: How grades work and the Index method note. We publish the method so that anyone can follow and check it, which is also what the Open Database License asks of us.
Business use. Businesses license our outputs under terms supplied on enquiry to [email protected]. Those outputs carry the same notices.
